'Merry Christmas' Sign Somehow Newsworthy |

MADEIRA - December 3rd was a slow news day for The Cincinnati Enquirer, but they did run a big story on a Madeira politician who put up a "Merry Christmas" banner.
State Rep. Michelle Schneider wanted to wish the people of Madeira "Merry Christmas", and be one of the only people in Ohio to express such a sentiment this year.
Schneider's revolutionary "Merry Christmas" sign wasn't enough. The event of a politician wishing her constituents "Merry Christmas" would obviously require a press release and stories in several local news outlets.
Whether this story would attract as much attention from The Enquirer today is debatable, what with The Enquirer's even bigger story about the mutilated Baby Jesus at the AutoZone in Cheviot. Although Michelle Schneider had plenty of time to talk to The Enquirer about her Christmas banner, she recently had a little more trouble responding to their phone calls about ethics violations.
