The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team lost its second overall game of the season to conference rival Louisville last Saturday, January 15. The 66-69 loss gives UC a season record of 14-2.
"They're pathetic, as usual." said David Hyde, 20, an economics major at UC and avid basketball fan. "I can't believe how many losses they've piled up this year. Why can't they ever win a game?"
Janice Loman, 19, Mr. Hyde's girlfriend, concurred. "It's so tough, being a UC fan. I guess we should be used to this endless string of heartbreaking losses, but it hurts every time." As Mr. Hyde patted Ms. Loman's hand, a single tear rolled down his cheek.
Cincinnati is the winningest team in the history of Conference USA, with a 248-63 (.797) overall record during this span. UC has won either a regular season or tournament title in twelve of the past thirteen seasons. |
