Kentucky Unveils New License Plate |

FRANKFURT - Kentucky unveiled its new license plate Tuesday, much to the delight of Bluegrass State residents. Most Kentuckians despise the current plate design, with its smiley-face sun adorning the center.

After sorting through several hundred bids, Kentucky ended up selecting LPK, the same design company that created the new UC Bearcat logo several months ago.
"We're proud to bring a fresh new look to Kentucky," said LPK's Lead Designer Ralph Stewart. "And at the same time, we think we also kept the spirit of Kentucky's current license plate alive. With the italicized state title and more aggressive sun beams, Kentucky is poised and ready to take on the twenty-first century." |
