Huggins Challenges Zimpher to One-on-One |

CORRYVILLE - UC head basketball coach Bob Huggins will play
school president Nancy Zimpher in a one-on-one pick-up basketball game for "all
the marbles."
When asked to define "marbles," Huggins explained, "Simple
really. She wins, she gets to be head basketball coach. I win, I get to be
school president. A pretty fair deal,
I'd say. We were going to do HORSE, but with my significant height, weight,
playing experience, and skill advantages, I pushed for one-on-one."
In a statement, Zimpher said, "Look, we have world-class music,
performance, design, architecture, and engineering programs. We didn't need
basketball to get into the Big East with all of the lucrative media and
tournament money that involves. We could have gotten in on the strength of our
DAAP students alone. Like that bridge-breaking thing they do. I do love a
good bridge-breaking. I'm sure people would line up, pay $20, and fill up Fifth
Third arena to see something like that."

When asked about the matchup, Zimpher replied, "I'm not that concerned. After all, how hard is it to put a round ball through a round hoop? It doesn't take a Ph.D." |
