Pete Rose Inducted into Bad Acting Hall of Fame |

Pete Rose was inducted into the Bad Acting Hall of Fame on Sunday after appearing in a new Gold Star Chili commercial.
"Dem salads are good," said an awkward Rose, before taking a healthy bite from Gold Star Chili's new South of the Border Chili Salad.
"Cut!" yelled the director after the 4,256th take.
"Ladies and gentlemen, that's a wrap. And a new record!" As the studio burst into applause, an unfazed Rose continued to happily eat his salad. Rose unknowingly bested Shaquille O'Neil's 1992 record, where, in a McDonalds commmercial, the oversized basketball star required 4,255 takes to deliver the line: "And I thought I ordered the big breakfisk [sic]."
It is currently unknown whether auto-body repair shop Maaco, who in the 1980's also hired Rose as a spokesman, will invest the $75 appearance fee and 2500 hours of television studio time necessary to shoot a new commmerical with the former Red. |
